Meet the band.

Meet jake

Jake “Tiger” Shadrake is the unmistakable voice at the center of The Conundrum, bringing intensity, tension, and a restless musical intelligence to the band’s sound.

His vocals can move from a low-burning croon to a full-throttle howl, cutting through the guitars with melody, urgency, and just the right amount of danger. He does not simply sing the songs—he inhabits them, throwing himself into each performance and making it feel immediate, unpredictable, and impossible to ignore.

A graduate of NYU with a degree in musical composition, Jake brings a composer’s ear to everything he sings. His background in piano, harmony, and arrangement gives him a deep understanding of how melody can build pressure, shift mood, and collide with the noise around it. He understands exactly how a song works—and has the instinct to push against the structure when things get too comfortable.

That combination of formal training, melodic ambition, theatrical energy, and a taste for the strange gives Jake a presence that goes beyond the traditional frontman role. His musical foundation adds depth and dimension to every vocal performance without sanding down its edge.

Onstage, Tiger is equal parts singer, storyteller, and provocateur. He can command a room with a single phrase, pull the audience into the tension of a quieter moment, and then drive the band toward something louder, darker, and more volatile.

That collision of precision and unpredictability gives The Conundrum added drama, personality, and unmistakable alt-rock bite.
